Letter 263
TO THE SAME
She comforts him when about to leave for Breno.
HAIL TO JESUS CRUCIFIED AND OUR LADY OF SORROWS
Very Reverend Father Confessor,
Though I am very tired tonight, and sleepy too, I cannot
do without writing this letter to you: practically the whole day
an inner voice kept saying to me, «Write to your Confessor»;
what to write I myself don’t know. I have heard how sorry all
your family members were at the news that you will perhaps
have to leave for Breno.
This made me think of the greater distress you may be in; and
yet I tell you: I feel that God will grant the grace to leave you
here, and even suppose it is really God’s will that you should
go to that blessed Breno, I am sure God will work on the
hearts of all your dear ones and on yours as well in such a
way that what now seems so hard will not be so difficult after
all, because the carrying out of God’s will, whatever it may
cost, is always sweet. When I pray for this thing I always seem
to hear the answer: «Leave it to me. I know what I am doing.
