SÃO PAULO: The second Vocational Youth Pastoral Assembly

The second Vocational Youth Pastoral Assembly was held from 3 to 5 March at the Delegation premises. It was a kairós, God’s time enlightened by the theme By vocation, grace and mission lovers of youth. It offered us moments to reflect on ourselves, on our vocation that originates from God’s dream, and, at the same time, invited us to think and evaluate how we make use of this grace in our daily lives through prayer and apostolic service. The Lord wants us to be particularly con-cerned about young people who are in danger and to be attentive to their needs. Besides, he exhorts us to walk along their path with courage and synodal attitudes: walking together, listening attentively, dialoguing, accompanying and promoting youth leadership. It is time to turn our gaze to the realities of youth, as individuals and as communities and in the different contexts of Brazil in which they live to respond to their needs suitably. It is time to review the Delegation’s project regarding youth animation: we have reason to praise and thank the Lord for the much good done by the communities and also to evaluate and plan new action strategies. It is time to reaffirm our charismatic option for young people and take full responsibility. We ought to live moments of formation, spirituality, dialogue, designed and planned with them, as well as to promote vocational culture by presenting and making Jesus known and loved and to awake in them the desire to follow him joyfully and bravely to spread his kingdom and his charity. It is time to get out of the routine, recharge oneself and be motivated by authentic love; it is a time of hope and trust, for the Lord walks with us.
