charity towards the poor - to put aside all that is worldly.

Dearly beloved Sister,

LET US LOVE JESUS – LET US PRAISE MARY

First of all, lest I forget, let me tell you something I’ve
been wanting to mention, and it is this: I should like to know if
you have received a letter Mother Mistress wrote to you as far
back as the early days of July. If by chance you have received
it, tell Mother Mistress, because she is eager to know that, and
also whether you are doing what she told you about the
Novenas, etc.
Now let’s talk about us.
What caused me special merriment in your letter was
your surprise at my second ‘obstacle’, because it makes me
see that you really care for me. Quite honestly, I had no doubt
about it; in fact, I did not mean it seriously, but I just wanted to

make sure in order to be more open with you. Oh well! Enough
