In the life of a disciple bearing fruit is a very important aspect:

“I chose you that you may go and bear fruit…” (Jn 15:16).

The next criteria is whether the fruit is good or not  because

“a tree is known by its fruit;

and the tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire” (cf. Mt 7:17-19).

So also, a disciple is distinguished by the kind of fruit he/she bears.

Christians as disciples of the Lord are indeed commissioned to go and bear fruit that endures.

This is possible only if the Holy Spirit guides him or her.

This calls for a daily choice: to be led by the Spirit and not by the flesh.

The consequence of being led by the Spirit is visible in the kinds of fruits borne in our day-to-day life!
